ついにグランドフィナーレ
既報の通り、Bungieのアクションシューティングゲーム『Destiny2（デスティニー2）』が発表され、世界中のゲームファンの注目を集めているが、人類を守る“ガーディアン”と暗黒との戦いが描かれてきた『Destiny（デスティニー）』の大型アップデート“勝利の時代”が、2017年3月29日より配信中だ。
ファミ通.comでは、Bungieのコミュニティーマネージャーを務めるDavid Dague氏にメールインタビューを敢行。“勝利の時代”の見どころや、発表されたばかりの『Destiny2（デスティニー2）』についてうかがった。

――“勝利の時代”とは何ですか？ このイベントにはどの様なストーリーのつながりがありますか？ ユーザーとしての楽しみかたで期待すべき点はどんなところでしょうか？
What is “Age of Triumph”？ What is the story behind it and what should player expect as the fun part？
David “勝利の時代”は『Destiny（デスティニー）』のアドベンチャーのクライマックスです。数年に及ぶアクションや探索を経て、今回ついにグランドフィナーレとなります。新しい世界で新たなアドベンチャーを体験してもらう前に、いままですべての“最高の瞬間”をウイニングランとして体験してもらいたいと思います。楽しみかたは皆さん次第です。“記録ブック”を使いガーディアンを好きなアクティビティで自分色に染めることができます。
Age of Triumph is the culmination of your Destiny 1 adventure. After years of action and exploration, this is the grand finale. Before we send you to new worlds to experience new adventures, we’re sending you on a victory lap that includes all of your finest moments. The audience is in full control of the fun they want to have. The Record Book lets each Guardian define themselves with their favorite activities.
――“勝利の時代”では過去の武器のリメイクが行われているとのことで、とても楽しみなのですが、全く新しい武器の追加はありますか？
Remake of historical weapons is exciting in “Age of Triumph”, will there be addition of brand new weapons？
David もっとも象徴的なレイド武器のいくつかには、プレイヤーの皆さんが気に入ってくれた属性バーン付きの新しいエキゾチック武器が追加されます。また、人気の高い武器のいくつかには新しい装飾も追加されています。全く新しい武器については、『Destiny2（デスティニー2）』の情報ですでに見た方もいるかもしれませんね。
Some of the most iconic Raid weapons are getting new Exotic variants with those elemental burns that players have loved in the past. We’re adding new ornaments to some of your favorite weapons, too. As for brand new weapons? You’re already getting a glimpse of those in Destiny 2.
――隠れクエストや武器はありますか？
Will there be hidden quest and weapons？
David すでに皆さんがマスターしているレイドには新しいチャレンジとサプライズを隠してあります。これらミステリーは、皆さんのファイアチームで解決すべき新たなパズルで新装されています。“勝利の時代”は、新たな発見というよりは、いままでの皆さんのジャーニーの回想の様なコンテンツになっています。
We’ve hidden new challenges and surprises in the Raids that you have already mastered. Those mysteries are being renewed with new puzzles to solve with your Fireteam. Age of Triumph is about remembrance of your journey more than new discoveries.
――高難度でのクリアーなど、リメイクされたレイドへの参加条件はありますか？
Will there be limitation to attend the Raid remakes such as completing in the hard mode？
David 毎週、ひとつのレイドがアクティビティとしてフィーチャーされます。ウィークリーフィーチャーされたレイドではすべてのチャレンジモードがアクティブな状態になります。そこでエキゾチック武器や装備の装飾を得ることができます。1度フィーチャーされたレイドは、光390のアクティビティでいつでも楽しむことができます。ただ、再デザインされたレイドをマスターすることは、記録ブックのランクアップで行えることのひとつにしか過ぎません。
Each week, one of the Raids will be a featured activity. The Weekly Features Raid will have all Challenge Modes active. That’s where you’ll earn exotic weapons and armor ornaments. Once a Raid has been featured, you’ll be able to enjoy the 390 Light activity whenever you want. Mastering the redesigned Raids is just one of the things you can do to rank up in the Record Book.
――光の上限は400のままですか？ それとも上がりますか？
Will Light cap stay at 400 or will they get lifted？
David 光の上限は引き続き400となります。“勝利の時代”では、『Destiny（デスティニー）』のゴールに向けてコミュニティーを一体化させることがゴールです。ですので、今回は上限を上げないことにしました。つぎのアドベンチャーが開始される前に、今回の素晴らしいアドベンチャーにきちんと終わりをもたらすことがテーマです。
400 Light is still the maximum potential for a Guardian. Our goal for Age of Triumph is to unite the community at the finish line for Destiny. At this time, we chose not to extend the race. This is about bringing this awesome adventure to a fitting close before the next begins.
――『Destiny2（デスティニー2）』はどの様なことを期待すればよいでしょうか？ 引き続き『Destiny（デスティニー）』をプレイする場合は何にフォーカスすればよいでしょうか？
What should I expect in Destiny 2 and what should I focus on if I am still playing Destiny 1？
David 『Destiny2（デスティニー2）』は、今年後半にリリースされます。それまでは、『Destiny（デスティニー）』を引き続き楽しんでいただけると思います。“勝利の時代”の記録ブックを攻略するというチャンスもありますし、ガーディアンとして達成したことをほかのプレイヤーに見せつける機会もまだまだあると思います。
Destiny 2 will be here later on this year. In the meantime, Destiny 1 still has some awesome ways to enjoy the action with your friends. You also have one more chance to define your legend with the Age of Triumph Record Book and show everyone the things you’ve accomplished as a Guardian.
――“降り立ちし邪神”以来、『Destiny（デスティニー）』をプレイしていません。またプレイし始めてもゲームは楽しめますか？
I have not played Destiny since TTK. Can I still enjoy the game if I come back now？
David 我々のコミュニティーは、サラディン卿とともに鉄の豪傑への復讐の冒険をとても楽しんでプレイしてくれました。『Destiny（デスティニー）』は、つねにプレイヤーを待ち望んでいる世界で展開されているゲームです。いつでもプレイヤーの皆さんに飛びついてもらったり、やめたところから再開してもらったりできます。敵が皆さんをお待ちしています！
Our community had a lot of fun joining Lord Saladin on his quest to avenge the Iron Lords. Destiny is a game that takes place in a world that is always there for you. Players are always welcome to jump back in and pick up right where they left off. Your enemies are waiting for you！
――記録ブックのコンプリートがとても難しいです！ どうやって自分のやる気を引き出すべきでしょうか？
Record book completion is extremely hard ! What should I keep in mind to drive myself ？
David “勝利の時代”は、あなたがこのゲームでいちばん好きなことを経験する、それがすべてです。素晴らしい報酬を得るために記録ブックをコンプリートする必要はありません。ここ数年『Destiny（デスティニー）』をプレイいただけている皆さんには、すでに報酬が待っていますよ。
Age of Triumph is all about experiencing the things you love the most. You don’t need to complete the whole record book to earn some awesome rewards. If you’ve played some Destiny these past few years, some of them are already waiting for you.
